Tyrone Smith is an educator and founder of Boukman Academy - an organisation that provides pan-African education. Their online school, found at www.boukmanacademy.com, has a free curriculum focused on Black studies where you can study history, political science, psychology, sociology and culture. The history section of their curriculum covers the African continent pre-colonialism, as well as the history of African people across Europe, Asia and the Americas. The political science section is focused on teaching both world politics and liberation philosophy. The psychology section looks at the effects of racism on the mind, and the sociology section examines how racism has shaped today’s societal relations. They also provide resources and products, and recently released a book called “the Black Past”. This work is a concise, comprehensive guide to Black history complete with illustrations, maps and timelines. They also host teaching events and workshops across the U.K. and internationally. As well as this, they provide audio lessons and other Black studies material on their patreon.
